Every Bitch Has Her Way

The Book

Chapter 1

Scent of a Bitch

She knew who you were before you opened your mouth.

The nose does not lie, and neither does she.

A greyhound and a poodle in silk scarves greeting each other beside a sunlit rooftop pool

Two bitches met on a sidewalk. Neither asked the other's name.

Neither cared where the other went to obedience school. Neither asked what the other did for a living.

They exchanged the information that mattered. Then they moved on.

Busy bitches.

Dogs have been networking this way for thousands of years.

The rest of us are still experimenting.

The Bitch Smells It First

The bitch was halfway across the park when she changed direction.

No hesitation. No discussion.

No committee meeting.

One moment she was walking east. The next she was heading south.
